Antigoni Avramouli is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Informatics at the Ionian University. She earned a B.S. degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics at the Democritus University of Trace, Greece. She has completed an interdisciplinary Master’s of Clinical Applications of Molecular Medicine in University of Thessaly, postgraduate study program of the School of Medicine.
Her research is mainly focused in Neuroinflammation and Neurodegeneration, Neurodegenerative diseases, Oxidative stress, DNA &RNA damage, Molecular pathways, Immunology, Bioinformatics, Genomic Data Science, System Biology.
Eirini Banou received her diploma in Applied Informatics from University of Macedonia, in Thessaloniki and her Master in Science degree from Department of Informatics from Ionian University in Corfu.
Her research interest mainly concern Bioinformatics, Neurogenerative Diseases, Artificial Intellegence.
Manos Perakis got the B.Sc Diploma in Mathematics at the University of Ioannina and the M.Sc Diploma in Applied Mathematics at the Open University of Greece. Now, he is a PhD student in the Department of Informatics at the Ionian University.
His research is mainly focused on mathematical models in Neurobiology, applied to neurodegenerative diseases and is assisted by advanced Informatics tools.
Themis Exarchos is an Assistant Professor of Data Modeling and Decision Support Systems in the Dept. of Informatics, Ionian University, Corfu, Greece and member of the Bioinformatics and Human Electrophysiology Laboratory in the same Department. He holds an Engineering Diploma, from the Dept. of Computer Engineering and Informatics of University of Patras and a PhD in Medical Informatics from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina. He has more than 65 publication in journals, more than 80 publications in conference proceeding and more that 15 publications in books. He has worked for more than 15 years in research and development projects, funded by EU and other bodies. He is collaborating with various institutes and universities in Greece and abroad. He is also a visiting professor in Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Kragujevac, Serbia. He is participating in several committees for regional, national and European proposal evaluation.
His research interests include data modeling and mining, healthcare decision support systems, big data analytics and biomedical informatics.
Stefan Kallis is a Ph.D student in Bioinformatics at Department of informatics at Ionian University. She received her diploma from the Department of Nutrition from University of Greenwich in London and her master’s degree and diploma (MSc. & DLSHTM) with specialization in Public Health and Nutrition (Public Health Nutrition) of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Her research interests mainly concern Bioinformatics.
Physiotherapist, Clinical Instructor
Stefanos Patsiris lives in Corfu and works as a physiotherapist and clinical instructor at the General Hospital of Corfu.
His research interests include Physiotherapy in respiratory diseases, Education and teaching in physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy.
Kyriakos Pertsemlidis is a PhD student in the Department of Informatics at the Ionian University. He received a BS degree in Mathematics at the Aristoteleio University of Thessaloniki. He received a Master Degree in Informatics, specialized in Artificial Intelligence, at the Aristoteleio University of Thessaloniki.
His research mainly concern Reaction Diffusion Models in Bioinformatics.
Eleftheria Polyxronidou is a member of the Computational Biology & Medicine Group of the Biomedical Research Foundation (Academy of Athens) and a research associate in the Informatics and Telematics Institute (ITI). She received her Diploma in Production Engineering and Management from the School of Engineering of Democritus University of Thrace and her MSc in Energy Technologies and Sustainable Design from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of University of Cyprus.
Her research interest focus on Molecular Dynamics, Homology Modelling, NGS and Multiple Sequence Alignments, and Biological databases.
Maria Revi is a PhD student in the Department of Informatics at the Ionian University. She received a BS degree in Chemistry at the University of Ioannina. She received a Master Degree in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Technology, specialized in Food Technology and Packaging Materials, at the University of Ioannina.
Her research mainly concern Neurodegenerative diseases, Pharmacology, Bioinformatics.
Psychologist, Coordinator for Behavioral and Cognitive Research
Maria Sagiadinou is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Informatics at the Ionian University. She received her Diploma in Psychology from the Department of Psychology of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.T.) and her master degree in Social Clinical Psychology from the Department of Psychology of A.U.T. Her second master degree is in Informatics and Humanistic Sciences from the Department of Informatics from Ionian University.
Her research interests are focused in prodromal diagnosis of Alzheimer ’s Disease, Cognitive Experimental Psychology, Neuropsychology, study, assessment and training of cognitive functions and impairments, practice of neurofeedback, learning disabilities and diagnostic tests. Her professional activity is focused in Clinical Psychotherapy and Group Therapy.
Research Engineer, responsible for administrative issues and managing technology development projects
Georgia Theocharopoulou is a Ph. D student in Neuroinformatics in the Department of Informatics at Ionian University. She received her diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering of Polytechnic University of Patras and her master degree in Informatics from the Department of Informatics of Ionian University
Her research is focused on understanding the neural mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases, using neuroinformatics through the development of brain models to analyze neural activities. More specifically: Nervous system morphology, protein folding, imaging of neurons and their processes and neuroinformatics. As a research engineer of Bionformatics and Human Electrophysiology Lab she is involved in the development of databases for light and electron microscopic data and new techniques and software tools to acquire and represent this knowledge within realistic neuronal models. In her research work, she has focused on the application of neuroinformatics in the areas of biomedical data integration and knowledge discovery.
Ph. D student
Katerina Kadena is a Ph. D student in Neuroinformatics in the Department of Informatics at Ionian University. She holds a Diploma in Chemical Engineering, a Bachelor in Law and an MBA.
Her research interest mainly concerns Neurodegenerative disorders, Bioinformatics and personalized treatment focusing on ALS.
Through her professional experience she has been working in consulting and EU research and e-learning projects, mostly taking care of SMEs that would like to innovate or expand. She is an expert in EU funding programs, IP and commercialization of innovative products while she has elaborated numerous of business plans and proposals. She has heavy PM experience (PM for IT projects in Health, Security and Defense, Manufacturing, EU RnD Projects etc.) while she has been collaborating with research centers, Universities, public authorities and policy makers. She is also PRINCE2 certified practitioner and certified GDPR expert.
