Georgia Theocharopoulou
General Information

Georgia Theocharopoulou is a Ph. D student in Neuroinformatics in the Department of Informatics at Ionian University. She received her diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering  of Polytechnic University of Patras and her master degree in Informatics from the Department of Informatics of Ionian University

Research Interests

Her research is focused on understanding the neural mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases, using neuroinformatics through the development of brain models to analyze neural activities. More specifically: Nervous system morphology, protein folding, imaging of neurons and their processes and neuroinformatics. As a research engineer of Bionformatics and Human Electrophysiology Lab she is involved in the development of databases for light and electron microscopic data and new techniques and software tools to acquire and represent this knowledge within realistic neuronal models. In her research work, she has focused on the application of neuroinformatics in the areas of biomedical data integration and knowledge discovery.

Dr. Antonia Plerou

 

 

General Information

Dr. Antonia Plerou holds a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Informatics of the Ionian University in Corfu. She received Diploma in Mathematics from Faculty of Science from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and her master degree in Mathematics from School of Science and Technology of Hellenic Open University in Patra.

Research Interests

Her research interests are mainly related to the fields of Cognitive Science and Learning Difficulties, Dyscalculia and Algorithmic Thinking Difficulties, Artificial Neural Networks and Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition, Neuronal Disorders treatment using Neuroinformatics, Neurofeedback Training, Neurodegenerative Diseases, and Educational Neuroscience

Antigoni Avramouli

 

 

General Information

Antigoni Avramouli is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Informatics at the Ionian University. She earned a B.S. degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics at the Democritus University of Trace, Greece. She has completed an interdisciplinary Master’s of Clinical Applications of Molecular Medicine in University of Thessaly, postgraduate study program of the School of Medicine.

Research Interests

Her research is mainly focused in Neuroinflammation and Neurodegeneration, Neurodegenerative diseases, Oxidative stress, DNA &RNA damage, Molecular pathways, Immunology, Bioinformatics, Genomic Data Science, System Biology.

Maria Sagiadinou

 

 

General Information

Maria Sagiadinou is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Informatics at the Ionian University. She received her Diploma in Psychology from the Department of Psychology of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.T.) and her master degree in Social Clinical Psychology from the Department of Psychology of A.U.T. Her second master degree is in Informatics and Humanistic Sciences from the Department of Informatics from Ionian University.

Research Interests

Her research interests are focused in prodromal diagnosis of Alzheimer ’s Disease, Cognitive Experimental Psychology, Neuropsychology, study, assessment and training of cognitive functions and impairments, practice of neurofeedback, learning disabilities and diagnostic tests. Her professional activity is focused in Clinical Psychotherapy and Group Therapy.

Katerina Bobori is an postgradute student of Department of Informatics of Ionian University in Corfu. She is currently a student of the Master’s Promgramme of “Bioinformatics and Neuroinformatics” of the same Department.

Research Interest

Her research interest mainly concerns Neurodegenerative disorders (Huntington’s disease), Molecular genetics, Misfolded Proteins, Memory Disorders  and EEG Signal Analysis.
