Dr. Christos Yapijakis
Christos Yapijakis is Assistant Professor of Neurogenetics at the School of Medicine of the University of Athens at “Attikon” Hospital, Director of Cephalogenetics Center, and Advisor Board Member of the Research Laboratoty of Applied Philosophy at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens. He has been the first in Greece establishing pioneer of university and private laboratories of Molecular Neurogenetics and Orofacial Genetics. His research involves the molecular mechanisms of neurological and orofacial hereditary disorders, in addition to genetic counseling and molecular diagnosis. He has performed prenatal testing for more than ten genetic disorders, including some for the first time worldwide. He has co-authored more than 100 publications in international journals and books, his group has received various national and international funding grants, and he has served as an editorial board member in international journals of several fields.
His research interests include Cephalogenetics, Neurogenetics, Genetics of Head and Neck Syndromes and Molecular Oncology.
